Have you ever been in a physically abusive relationship?
Have you ever been in an emotionally abusive relationship?
Have you ever had a friend that was in an emotionally or physically abusive relationship?
If you’ve answered “yes” to any of those questions, I’m not suggesting, I’m asking that you take the time to read this book.
Colleen Hoover has really done something special with this book. She found a way to shed light on what it looks like being in an unhealthy relationship through the eyes of the person that adores the person making the relationship toxic.
It Ends With Us is another fabulously twisted romance by literary queen Colleen Hoover. This book follows Lily—a twenty something and her life when she meets hunky neurosurgeon Ryle. There are also many flashbacks to Lily’s life as a fifteen-year-old, falling in love for the first time with a homeless boy named Atlas.
As I read this book I felt so much empathy for Lily and the difficult situations she encountered. I was right there with her, finding justification for scenarios that really didn’t deserve any. CoHo makes you feel just how challenging it can be to make the right choice for yourself when you’re so entirely wrapped up in another person.
The only spoiler I’ll give: Lily makes the right choice in the end.
It Ends With Us is a page turner. I sped through this one in two days. You’ll get hooked super fast and then won’t be able to put it down until you get to the end! In true CoHo fashion it’s also filled with lots of steamy love scenes.
I gave this book 5 stars on Goodreads. The story of Lily is one that I will treasure for the rest of my life.

“All humans make mistakes. What determines a person’s character aren’t the mistakes we make. It’s how we take those mistakes and turn them into lessons rather than excuses.”
“It’s easy when we’re on the outside to believe that we would walk away without a thought if a person mistreated us. It’s easy to say we couldn’t continue to love someone who mistreats us when we aren’t the ones feeling the love of that person.”
“Cycles exist because they are excruciating to break. It takes an astronomical amount of pain and courage to disrupt a familiar pattern. Sometimes it seems easier to just keep running in the same familiar circles, rather than facing the fear of jumping and possibly not landing on your feet.”
Today’s bath was brought to you by..you guessed it..Dr. Teals. They really are my favorite bubble bath, and it is so convenient that so many grocery shops sell their products.
This little bath trio is by a company called Sanitas that my aesthetician turned me on to!
Lastly we have the iridescent face mask by Que Bella, because who doesn’t need some extra sparkle in their life?
